Why It's Time to Sell Google Stock

Google has just announced a new policy that they will not anonymize search requests for 18-24 months. There were a number of reasons given, including "complying—and anticipating compliance—with possible data retention requirements" -- presumably from the government.

With user privacy compromised, its likely that many Google searchers will look to other means of searching for information that won't allow them to be tracked.
