Anna Nicole Smith Exchanges Vows with Howard K. Stern

The Star magazine broke the story, reporting the ceremony as a wedding. A publicist for Smith has since indicated that the ceremony was not a marriage, and is not legally binding, but rather two people showing their commitment to eachother.

The event comes just weeks after the mysterious death of her son, Daniel Wayne Smith. And Daniel's death ocurred days after the birth of Anna Nicole's baby during a visit to Anna Nicole Smith as she was recovering from childbirth.

Smith's new baby girl Danilynne was named after her son, 20-year-old Daniel Wayne Smith, who died September 10, 2006.

Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern had known eachother for many years, and just two days before the ceremony, Stern announced on Larry King that he was the father of Anna Nicole Smith's new-born baby, Danilynne Hope.

Photographer Larry Birkhead, a former boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith, has claimed he is the baby's father, and observers speculate that Smith and Stern moved to the Bahamas to avoid a custody battle.

The results of a toxicology report show that Daniel Smith died of an irregular heartbeat, caused by a combination of the drugs methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro.

According to the Associated Press, the forensic pathologist who conducted the toxicology report, Cyril Wecht, said Daniel Smith apparently died from a "classical" combination of the drugs which had a lethal "cumulative effect on the central nervous system."

Wecht, a U.S.-based pathologist is known for his investigation into Elvis Presley's death, and other celebrity cases.

Bahamian officials have not closed their investigation yet and have indicated that the findings of their own toxicolgy report will not be released before the October 23 jury inquest into the matter.
