Nick Lachey Seeks Spousal Support from Simpson
Nick Lachey is hoping to receive spousal support from Jessica Simpson according to divorce papers. Lachey is also seeking part of Simpson's earnings since the separation and he wants his jewelry returned. The court papers were filed Friday in response to Simpson's divorce filing on December 16th.
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson came into the spotlight as a couple when they starred in the MTV reality series "Newlyweds." Last month, the house the couple lived in during the "Newlyweds" was sold. The couple did not have a prenuptial agreement. Simpson has asked the court not to grant Lachey spousal support.
Lachey became famous for his part in the boy band 98 Degrees. At the time the couple married, Lachey was the top earner in the relationship. Simpson gained most of her fame and wealth during the marriage. Last year the singer-actress earned more than $30 million. Simpson also made her big-screen debut as Daisy Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard."
