Termites Fueling our Cars?

Termites as Fuel
Scientists working at the Joint Genome Institute are looking for alternative fuel sources, and their current focus is on termites, and more specifically termite guts. Yes that is correct, termite guts may hold a very special ingredient that may make clean hydrogen fuel production possible.

Because there is not a large supply of hydrogen fuel on the earth that is waiting to be excavated, hydrogen fuel must be manufactured. The challenge lies in finding a way to produce mass amounts hydrogen fuel that is inexpensive, non-polluting and available to the masses. If we could fugure this out, then we would be driving hydrogen cars that have zero polluting emissions.

Termites have been evolving for millions of years, with more than 2,500 species today, the social relationships that termite's have may be the reason they have a special microbial that might save the world.
